Catch and cook.
Our catch and cook weekends are very popular. You will learn lots of new skills in both fishing and cooking. These courses are aimed at beginners who have little or no knowledge of fly fishing however more experienced anglers are also welcome
These courses are all about getting back to nature and learning how to catch, prepare and eat your own free range food. The fish you will be targeting are fresh Rainbow Trout in the beautiful waters of one of our large reservoirs. We only take Rainbow Trout from "put and take" waters. Wild Brown Trout are always returned to the water. These courses are a combination of all your skills coming together from learning about casting and tackle set up, applying water craft skills and then hopefully catching a fish.
You will then learn how to prepare your catch and how to "hot smoke" your freshly prepared fish to enjoy alfresco after a hard days fishing. To come on these course you will need to have a love for the outdoors and the idea of eating your own fish. We understand that not everyone wants to actually dispatch their own fish and we will be on hand to help.
We know that we do have blank days when we can't catch and if after a hard day on the water we haven't managed to bag our dinner then some fillets will be provided for you to cook so you don't go hungry!
As there is a lot to get through on these courses they take place over a weekend. You can see a list of our forthcoming courses on the course diary.
