The River Itchen is another world famous chalk stream. Set amongst the beautiful Hampshire countryside, it’s chalk filtered water flows for about 28 miles from mid Hampshire through to Southampton. The gin clear of the River Itchen hold a diverse variety of aquatic life which sustains a good population of Trout and Grayling. Flies for the River Itchen will revolve around Olives, Caddis & Terrestrials as well a prolific Mayfly hatch.

The fishing heritage of the chalk streams mean that many anglers prefer to stalk rising fish with dry flies. Wet flies and nymphs also perform very well on the River Itchen where the rules allow.
