Fly Fishing Tuition

A tailored approach

Tuition is tailored to each individual’s experience; we are used to catering for a wide range of levels from complete novices to experienced anglers within the same group. It is often the case that a few members or the party are experienced fly anglers & just wish to fish for the day; in this case we are happy to recommend suitable flies & good spots & let you fish! We work on a low participant-to-instructor ratio of 3 to 1, ensuring an intimate learning environment.

For your convenience & enjoyment

We will provide all the equipment & tackle for the day. Participants are of course welcome to bring their own & we are happy to advise on suitable tackle before the event.

Food & Drink:

We understand that food & drink is as important as the fishing! Our local hotels can cater for anything from fine dining in award winning restaurants with comprehensive wine cellars to traditional bar menus with homemade pies & locally brewed ale. Depending on your budget & requirements, we will work with our selected list of local establishments to ensure that your staff & clients are fully catered for. Bankside hampers and picnic lunches can also be arranged.

What you should bring on the day

Please note: it is compulsory for all members of the group to wear sunglasses /glasses (for eye protection) & a peaked cap whilst on the river bank. » Wellington boots » Layers of clothing such as t-shirts, fleeces » Waterproofs (top & trousers if possible) » Sunglasses /glasses » Peaked cap or hat » Any medicines, inhalers etc

Tuition Costs & Licensing

Dotting the i’s & crossing the t’s

The cost of your day will depend on many factors such as the fishing venue, the size of your group & the type of catering that you require. After discussing your requirements we will send a fully itemised quotation for your event.

Rod Licences:

In the UK it is illegal to fish without a valid Environment Agency rod licence. Rod licences can be purchased from any post office or online. We are happy to arrange these for you if required.
