Fly Fishing Lessons On Our Private Derbyshire River
We own the fishing rights on a beautiful private beat of the River Derwent near Darley Dale in Derbyshire. This beat is completely private and is only available to our clients. You can learn the wonderful art of river fly fishing in Derbyshire and have the river all to yourself!
River tuition will enable you to:
- Learn river casting & fishing techniques
- Upstream dry fly
- Nymph & Czech Nymph
- Fishing a wet fly
- River watercraft & Fly selection
- Wading Safety
Wading is required and we even supply you with a pair of chest waders and wading staff! Just let us know your shoe size before you come. All of our tuition includes all the tackle you will need. If you are looking to make your tuition into a bit of a break then there is lots of quality local accommodation available.
Darley Dale is right on the edge of the Peak District and is set amongst beautiful countryside. Chatsworth House, Bakewell and Haddon Hall are all just a few miles away so there is plenty to so for a non-fishing guest. There are also some wonderful cosy country pubs nearby for a meal or drink after a day on the river. With abundant fly life including a lovely Mayfly hatch the river is perfect for learning the traditional art of upstream dry fly fishing as well as more modern techniques such as czech nymph. What is really wonderful about the river is because it is private you will have the river to yourself and are free to learn without the pressure of other anglers or feeling that you are being watched! River tuition is available from March through to October.
