Guided Fly Fishing On Haddon Estate

Join our pro fly fishing guides for a guided fly fishing session on the Haddon Estate. Your 1-2-1 guided session can either take place on the famous Derbyshire Wye or Derwent. On the Wye, you will dry fly fishing for magnificent wild fish (including the UK’s only major population of wild rainbows). The river is situated in the beautiful surroundings and meadowland of the Haddon Estate, near to Haddon Hall. The river has abundant fly life and a superb mayfly hatch. The fish are free rising and as you are bank fishing, there is no wading required. The Derbyshire Wye joins the river Derwent at Rowsley – the junction pool is also superb fishing! For those who prefer to fish a nymph or wet fly we also have access to a large stretch of the nearby river Derwent which holds superb head of Trout & Grayling. Wading is required on the Derwent to access some fine runs and pools. You will be professionally guided throughout the day and given a fly fishing day to remember. All the equipment is provided for the day.

Although we can offer help with casting during the session, please note this isn’t a tuition session and anglers should be able to complete a basic overhead cast and be able to shoot a bit of line in order to get the most out of the day. Guided fly fishing is available to those aged 18 and over.

We look forward to welcoming you soon!

Full Day Price: £295 including fishing ticket.
Half Day Price: £160 including fishing ticket

Season: 1st April – 7th October.

Guided Grayling On The Derbyshire Wye

Join our pro fly fishing guides for a guided Grayling fly fishing session on the Derbyshire Wye. Situated on the beautiful Haddon Estate, this unique limestone stream is the perfect habitat for catching this majestic wild fish. Abundant with fly life and food, the Wye is the perfect fly fishing river with plenty of fast riffles, glides and pools. The session will have a emphasis on nymph and wet fly fishing using both traditional upstream methods as well as modern techniques such as Euro Nymphing, although we may use dry flies if we can identify feeding Grayling. All tackle is provided for the day or you are welcome to bring your own.

All fishing on this beat takes place from the bank so no wading is required in cold winter water! All flies and sundries are provided as well as access to the estate, so there are no additional day ticket costs.
