Located in the counties of Derbyshire & Staffordshire, the river Dove is famous for it’s prominence in the book “The Compleat Angler”. It’s an excellent fly fishing river and Charles Cotton’s “fishing temple” still overlooks the river. The fly fishing in the Dove is predominately for wild Brown Trout and Grayling and responds very well to all fly fishing methods.

Flies for the Dove revolve around the usual mix of Olives, Caddis & Terrestrials. There can also be a bumper Mayfly hatch on the Dove so make sure you have some Mayfly patterns in your box if fishing at that time of year.

Our flies for the River Dove are selected by pro UK fly fishing guides and they are dispatched same day if ordered before Midday. You can order your flies for the River Dove directly on this blog page (below) or click here to go to the main fly shop.
